Membership Categories

WMIP currently offers 5 types of membership.

  1. Professional Members:
    Psychoanalytical psychotherapists, Jungian analytical psychotherapists, group analysts, psychoanalysts and Jungian analysts who have qualified through the WMIP trainings or other recognised trainings which are eligible for registration with UKCP (CPJA college) or BPC; child psychotherapists registered with the Association of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists (ACP).
  2. Clinical Associate Members:
    Those working clinically in private practice, in the NHS or a mental health charity as a psychotherapist, psychologist or counsellor, with a professional psychodynamic qualification and registered with UKCP, BPC, BPS or BACP. Those working in other modalities will be welcome to apply if they can demonstrate that they have a particular interest in analytic thinking or have completed further psychodynamic or analytic training.
  3. Student Members:
    Those currently engaged in one of the WMIP trainings or other recognised training which is eligible for registration with UKCP (CPJA college), BPC or ACP.
  4. Retired Members:
    Former Professional or Clinical Associate members.
  5. Affiliate Members:
    People with a personal or professional interest in mental health, psychoanalysis and Jungian analysis and development of mind, not currently practicing in the field, e.g.doctors, nurses, social workers, others in the helping professions and academics; counsellors and psychotherapists without the qualifications to become a Clinical Associate.
