The Training in Analytical Psychotherapy at the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy was founded in 1990. It aims to provide an experience of learning from which its graduates will qualify as competent and responsible practitioners of Analytical Psychotherapy.
The Analytical Psychotherapy Training currently offers three training options:
- Four year Training in Analytical Psychotherapy (clinical qualifying training leading to BPC registration and Professional membership of the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy)
- An Introduction to Analytical Psychotherapy Course – for people who are keen to engage with principles of analytical psychotherapy but who do not wish to start a qualifying training at this point
- Two year Infant Observation Training
The Four year Training in Analytical Psychotherapy is recognised by the BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and graduates are entitled to register with the BPC as Jungian Psychotherapists.
The Analytical Psychotherapy Training Committee (APTC) also organises an annual series of five public lectures given by visiting speakers as well as members of the Midlands community.
